Hello, my name is

     I began my teaching career working as a one-on-one assistant at Harris Middle School for 2 years, 1/2 a year at Mitchell High School and 1/2 a year at Tipton Hill School.  During that time, I attended Lees Mc- Rae College and received a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I've been happily married for twelve years now and have two super children: Trystan (9) and Chandra (5).  I completed my student teaching at Buladean Elementary School in the third grade.  I had the opportunity to teach six grade my first year of teaching.  I am now teaching second grade and loving every minute of it!  I have recently completed one out of four parts of the National Board Teacher Certification and plan to begin classes through E.T.S.U. in the fall to earn a M.A. in Reading Education.  I believe each child learns best in his or her own special way.  I plan my lessons based on each student's unique way of learning.   I've found the "Chinese Proverb" below to be completely  true for many of my students:

 Tell me and I forget.  Show me and I remember.  Involve me and I understand.
